If your child is between 9 months and 2 years old, you may be eligible for 15 hours of free childcare per week during term time. Here’s a simple breakdown:

  1. Eligibility: Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years.

  2. Hours: 15 hours per week for 38 weeks a year.

  3. Start Date: You can apply from when your child is 23 weeks old, and the free hours start from the term after your child turns 9 months old.

  4. Application: You need to apply for a code through the government’s childcare service and provide it to your chosen childcare provider12.
